Also, no need for a transition period, just go over cold turkey and see how your dog does. I'd recommend starting with chicken leg quarters as they are easily available and super cheap. Do just chicken for the first two weeks and then start gradually adding in other protein sources like turkey, pork, and beef once a week. I don't recommend any veggies as they just cause larger, looser stools since they can't really absorb the nutrients in them anyway. The supplements I use are glucosamine (for joint health) and fish oil (for everything health).
