I thought this would be fun since there are a few of us who work in this field.  Talk about raw and how it affects who you work with/where you work.  Also would love to know more about your particular practice!  Interesting cases...funny stories...frustrations...

We recently had this happen with our hospital.  YP came in and created this cool "360 tour".  Check it out! I just watched it for the first time today and it CRACKED ME UP but its awesome!

You can find it on our YP page.

Its a 360 tour of the hospital I work in :)

I have some good news! I'm now a tech full time! One of the techs quit so they hired two kennel people and bumped me up! :D

You work at a really nice place! I like that!

Here's a link to mine. The only problem is on the staff list, they mispelled my last name.http://coosavalleyequine.com

I dropped VT for programming although I have seen some VERY nice hospitals.

This one I personally interned at.  Exam rooms have been redone since these pictures it seems.  They are two-story with the top being for dentals.

I got to do a couple of things here!  Also a very nice place

I know a couple of people that work here

The hospital where I board my dogs! (note how unhospital it is like)

What a great site your clinic has! We are trying to get our facilities manager, Jim to update ours. I wish he would agree to do something like that. We just have talked him into having our clinic on facebook, and it has gone great! Our intern, Dr. Brittany has worked hard to make it a success, so MAYBE....... LOL!

Did you ever get hired? :)

I really love working as a tech.  It is so exciting and keeps you on your toes.  I can't imagine sitting in an office all day.  I need to be up and running :)

My favorite part is the large animal aspect.  We care for so many different critters and surprisingly a LOT of alpacas! Its so much more fun than just dogs and cats ;)

I love working for a horse vet as well. The farm calls are fun. I enjoy getting out of the clinic, and a break from the hospital barns.

I ended up getting job offers from three vets last winter, made the mistake of taking the one I did. So I started job hunting again and was going to try to do two part time jobs and then see who offered full time first. The second vet that I got hired at (Eglinton Vet Facility) was offering full time after a few months (when one of the other assistant/receptionists goes on maternity in late June), but the first vet didn't know that. They stopped scheduling me anyway. Not that I mind, since even though it's substantially crazier at EVF, they're a lot more relaxed and a hell of a lot nicer than Riverdale (the other vet clinic). Make a mistake and you're not worried about getting chewed out. LOVE it. It's much closer to my apartment, too, so that's also a bonus.

I think my only complaint is that they like to run their facility bare bones.  Often times I am the only tech with 2 doctors.  We almost never have tech assistants.  It is darn near impossible to request time off because there simply is NO COVERAGE.

I doubt its like this at every clinic though.

Ours sort of is like that as well. 4 doctors, three techs. It makes it tough when one of us is out a day. We have two more techs who will be there for the summer, but then will leave for other reasons. I'm hoping there will be some more hiring going on. I have heard some talk of it, but nothing for sure.
