So, I went the old-fashioned route and used my oven, My apartment STANK TO HIGH HEAVEN, but I'm really happy with how they came out, and they appear to be Gim-approved :P

Great job! Make sure you let them air dry and cool completely. Then store them in an open container (a ziploc bag not sealed all the way will do) either at room temp or in the fridge.

Thanks guys! I'll open up the ziploc, I didn't know it didn't have to be zipped completely. How long do treats like these usually last? I know not as long since there's no preservatives :P

I also kind of just chucked them in a bag after they came out and cooled a little and put them in the fridge, will that hurt them at all? They're now on the counter in the bag, but I opened it.

I think I'm going to try chicken livers next, and have a mix of treats for training. He's great at fetch, not so much at giving it back. So I want to train him to "leave it", he likes to grab at some things on the ground, too.

They will mold if you seal the bag completely. I usually spread them all out on cardboard for a few days to cool and dry off the rest of the way.

Then bag them up in ziplock closed almost all the way.

I have a lot of chicken livers, so I can keep replenishing my batches. I like this much better than even buying Benny's Bullies.

I have people asking me how long treats like these typically last. Anyone? Anyone? (Bueller?)

If not sealed in a bag, they can last awhile...months. If sealed and not refrigerated a week maybe?

Awesome, thanks! I've been leaving them out anyway. He sometimes "naps" near the kitchen counter, LOL
